Process Paintings are Beautiful!


Once again I am humbled by the exploratory and adventurous art-making attitudes of the lambies. This week I wanted to give them another chance just to play with color and different painting tools.

I cannot believe how beautiful these paintings turned out and how engaged these little ones were with the materials. I put out bowls of tempera paint that each had two colors plus white, foam brushes, foam stencil brushes (round on the bottom), and foam rollers that had a variety of textures on them. I also put out some large squares of colored tissue paper but these didn't seem to hold too much interest for most of the kids.

I love the progression of the process that I inadvertently captured with this little lambie:
