This year the focus at the lambies is the rainforest. I hadn't been there for a month because Mrs. Alma wanted some time to get the school prepped for the upcoming school year. I couldn't believe my eyes at all the beautiful additions to the place! Leave it to me though to forget to take pictures. I'll take some next week so you can see how lovely it looks.
For our first art project I thought it would be fun for the kiddos to get up close and personal with the big leaves one finds in the rainforest. I found some pictures of different varieties online and drew them on sheets of green construction paper with a sharpie, then I cut them out.
I borrowed some aqua blue butcher paper from my other job and rolled out a 10 foot or so piece. Then I let the kiddos mix up all kinds a different green paints (again, I forgot to take pics, which really would've done this post justice - live and learn I guess!). Then they went to town painting the leaves and gluing them to the butcher paper.
Here is what the mural looks like all hung up and beauteous!
Stay tuned for more comprehensive pics next week!
