A few weeks ago (I'm very behind on my blogging!) I brought the book Little Blue and Little Yellow by Leo Lionni. If you don't know the story, it is about a little blue blob and a little yellow blob that are BFFs and when they hug each other they turn green!
I had all of the lambies gather in a circle and I read the book to them, asking lots of questions along the way such as: "Which one is the mom?", "How do you think Little Blue is feeling right now?", and "Why do you think Little Blue's parents don't recognize him?" The lambies had a great time with the story and were completely engaged in the world of the little colors.

After we read the story we talked about the different places the friends went and I asked them to make a picture about the friends in the story. I gave them blue and yellow paint, cardboard TP tubes cut in half, glue, and little foam geometric shapes in many colors and let them go to town.
Here are some of the lambies working hard:
And here are some of their beautiful finished paintings!:
The lambies absolutely love getting to play with paint and shapes!
